Not all straight-to-video releases are mass-produced by big studios looking to turn a quick buck by priority mailing inferior films to the shelves of your local rental store. No, some of the movies you see on those shelves have been made by small, independent filmmakers, people who maxed out their credit cards and borrowed money from everybody they know (and some that they don’t), all because they have a passion for making movies. And just because they don’t have the clout and cash that the big studios have doesn’t mean they can’t make a film worthy of your rental money.
